The Higher and Vocational Education Commission and Act No. 20 of 1990's second goal are to create a nationally recognized system for providing tertiary and vocational education grants, as well as diplomas and other educational distinctions. As a result, in 2005, the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) framework was developed.

 The National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) system has seven levels of qualification. In general, stuff is a set of skill units designed to meet the demands of a certain labor market circumstance.

NVQ levels

👉 Level 1 - National Certification - Understanding the core acquisition of entry-level skills.

👉 Level 5 - National Diploma - Understanding the rising levels of technical and managerial skills.

👉 Level 6 - Higher National Diploma

👉 Level 7 - Bachelor's degree or equivalent - This level includes planning, resourcing, and management processes.

 

Methods for Obtaining National Vocational Qualification Certificates

National Vocational Qualification Certificates can be obtained in two ways.

01) Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission-accredited Competency Based Training (CBT) course - Students can obtain a National Vocational Eligibility Certificate by enrolling in a Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission-accredited Competency Based Training (CBT) course.

02) Through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) - If the applicant can demonstrate their competencies about the qualifications mentioned in the National Competency Standards with sufficient evidence, the applicant will be eligible to obtain National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) certificates based on the RPL system. Have. Prior Assessment Procedure (RPL) applications should be submitted to the National Apprenticeship and Technical Training Authority (NAITA) or the Vocational Training Authority (VTA).
